Ladli Behna Yojana: 34th Installment Released in Madhya Pradesh

The Madhya Pradesh government has released the 34th installment of the Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana into the bank accounts of the eligible women. More than 1.25 crore women have received the money directly in their bank accounts, which is a great relief for them.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav handed over this money in a single click at a public event.

Over ₹55,000 Crore Given So Far

Since the scheme started in June 2023, the government has transferred over ₹55,976 crore to women across the state.

At the event, CM Mohan Yadav said the scheme is helping women become financially strong and independent. He also responded to critics, saying the scheme is not just for elections but for real support.

Monthly Amount Increased, More Hike Planned

The money given under the scheme has increased step by step:

  • Earlier: ₹1,000 per month
  • Then: ₹1,250 per month
  • Now: ₹1,500 per month (since Nov 2025)

The government plans to increase this amount to ₹3,000 per month by 2028.

Big Budget Allocation for Women

In the 2026-27 budget, the government has set aside ₹23,882 crore for this scheme.

The total state budget is ₹4.38 lakh crore, and a large part of it is focused on women’s welfare. Around ₹1.27 lakh crore has been kept for different schemes for women.

Who Can Apply for Ladli Behna Yojana?

This scheme is for:

  • Married, widowed, divorced, and abandoned women
  • Age between 21 to 60 years
  • Permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh
  • Family income less than ₹2.5 lakh per year

Documents Required

To apply, women need:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Bank account linked with Aadhaar
  • DBT activated account
  • Samagra ID
  • Income certificate
  • Residence proof

Focus on Jobs and Self-Reliance

The government is also working to connect women with:

  • Skill development programs
  • Job opportunities
  • Small business support

Many women have already started small businesses using the monthly money.

Concerns Over Rising Cost

Experts and opposition leaders have raised concerns about the high cost of the scheme.

New Registrations Stopped

  • Earlier beneficiaries: 1.31 crore (Oct 2023)
  • Now: around 1.25 crore
  • Over 5.7 lakh women removed (mostly after age 60)
  • No new names are being added right now

Government Stands Firm

Despite criticism, CM Mohan Yadav said the scheme is helping women gain self-respect and independence. He called it a strong step towards empowering women in the state.
